D-Cam speed and red light camera
The Truvelo D-Cam family of digital
dual-capability speed and red light cameras is available with a choice of speed
measurement technologies. D-Cam-P uses piezo sensors and D-Cam-L uses laser.
All models feature Truvelo’s unique single-photo secondary speed check
verification method and a choice of front or rear image capture.
D-Cam uses a single-colour camera to
cover up to three lanes of traffic. It is a permanent-sited solution for
automatic, unattended operation. It uses a single image for speed offences and
a pair of rear images for red light offences. The same camera can be used at
speed-only enforcement sites or at combined speed/red light sites. Three
sub-surface sensors are used for speed measurement and vehicle classification.
Speed and red
light sites
At speed and red light enforcement
sites, the D-Cam acts as a speed camera during the traffic signals’ green and
amber phases, and during the first second of the red light phase. The three
in-ground sensors determine a vehicle’s position in relation to the traffic
signals and the system provides visual evidence of offences.
The D-Cam can store up to 100,000
encrypted and signed images but in operation the images will typically be
transmitted in real time to a back office via a fixed or cellular connection.
Alternatively they can be downloaded on site to a shuttle PC and returned to
the back office.
Camera post
D-Cam’s specially designed
Integra-Post features a combined camera housing to provide greater vandal
resistance and a modern, streamlined
appearance. The floor of the housing acts as a shelf for the camera and lowers
to provide easy access. All
the required camera equipment and data storage is contained within the D-Cam —
there is no roadside cabinet full of vulnerable
electronics. A
remote auxiliary flash is employed to provide optimum image quality.
The camera lowers for easy access on
UK-style Integra and
Cyclops housings.
