One such unit that we install is the Ratio io7, a smart and versatile EV charger that can be configured to suit different environments, power availability, charging needs, internet connectivity, lighting requirements and budget. It has a high performance illuminated head that provides excellent ground illumination and high light uniformity for safety and security. It also has a flexible payment system that supports plug & charge, mobile app or RFID controlled charging. It can integrate with any OCPP compliant EV software providers to deliver turnkey EV charging solutions. It has a durable and robust design with an extruded aluminium body and a die-cast aluminium head unit. It can also support load management of EV charging equipment to maximise charging speeds while protecting the electrical installation and building infrastructure. The io7 is designed for speed of installation and maintenance, and can be updated over-the-air with firmware and software updates.
There are currently several grants available to commercial entities for the purchase and installation of workplace EV chargepoints in UK. The most common one is the Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS), which is a voucher-based scheme that provides eligible applicants with support towards the upfront costs of the purchase and installation of electric vehicle (EV) chargepoints. It is available in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. The grant covers up to 75% of the total costs of the purchase and installation of EV chargepoints (inclusive of VAT), capped at a maximum of £350 per socket and 40 sockets across all sites per applicant . Another grant is the EV Infrastructure Grant for staff and fleets, which helps fund both the installation of chargepoints and the cost of chargepoint infrastructure. It is available to businesses, charities and public sector organisations that have staff or fleet vehicles that need to charge at work. The grant covers 75% of the total cost of purchase and installation of EV chargepoint infrastructure (inclusive of VAT), up to a maximum of £15,000. You can get up to £350 per chargepoint socket installed and up to £500 per parking space enabled with supporting infrastructure. You can receive 5 grants across 5 different sites.
