Market-leading mobile speed enforcement and electronic back office solutions will make Scotland’s roads safer

January 2024

Hot on the heels of contract wins with Staffordshire and Cumbria police, Police Scotland has chosen Truvelo, a leading provider of traffic enforcement solutions, as its supplier of the LASERcam 4 and VMS offence processing solution. This contract, awarded through Crown Commercial Services TTAS framework, recognises Truvelo's excellence in delivering innovative and reliable products that enhance road safety and efficiency.

The LASERcam 4 is a handheld device that uses laser technology to measure speed and distance, and to capture video and image evidence of speeding and moving traffic offences such as distracted driving and seatbelt offences. The VMS is a cloud-based software platform that automates the processing and management of traffic violations, from detection to prosecution. Truvelo’s integrated ANPR solution enables enhanced motorcycle enforcement and nighttime offence capture. Its van-mounted CCTV solution provides evidential continuity and personnel protection. An ongoing R&D effort run out of its new offices in Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire, will ensure that Truvelo moves with the times and continues to offer relevant forward-thinking solutions in support of modern digital policing.

Truvelo will also provide ongoing training, support and maintenance services to Police Scotland, ensuring the smooth operation and performance of the new system.

Calvin Hutt, Sales and Marketing Director of Truvelo, said: "It is crucially important for Truvelo to offer solutions which allow its customers to move on from legacy systems and future-proof their operations with the very latest technology. We are delighted to receive this award from Police Scotland, which reflects our commitment to delivering the best possible solutions for our customers and partners. We are proud to be part of Police Scotland's efforts to improve road safety and reduce casualties across the country. Our system will enable Police Scotland to detect and deter more offences, as well as streamline its processes and reduce costs. We look forward to a long and fruitful partnership with Police Scotland."
