Truvelo digs deep to offer customers greater value
Leading road safety and enforcement systems specialist adds civils work to its service offer.
Speed and red light enforcement specialist Truvelo (UK) is highlighting its expertise and service offer in another field — civil engineering and installation work in the roads and parking environments.
For the last 30 years, the company has carried out installation and maintenance activities using its own in-house team. This team, based in the North-West of England, operates nationwide on a 24/7 basis and Truvelo is now offering its services to other organisations who need roads management and monitoring technology installed.
Truvelo’s in-house team offers a full consultancy/design service, meaning that customers are assured that work undertaken meets current and future standards. Its operatives are fully qualified to work in a roadside environment and to implement traffic management.
And, as Truvelo moves into the parking and access control sectors, the services offered are growing further. This includes the fitting and commissioning of Automated Traffic Counters, loop and camera-controlled barrier systems, and electric vehicle charge-points. Truvelo increasingly provides contract services for loop and piezo sensor installs forming part of larger ongoing projects. “
Offering our services out to other companies is a natural progression from the tasks we already do for ourselves,” says Paul Barnett, Installations Manager. “We’re Highway Electrical Registration Scheme approved, which means that, as well as technology and street furniture, we can install power and data connections which are guaranteed to be standards-compliant.
“In particular, we’re keen to stress the high-quality end of the work we do. We can, for instance, install loops and piezoelectric sensors. That’s something that many civils companies shy away from because of the precision required — to work properly, for instance, a piezo installation has to be accurate to +/- 5mm.”
In 2021, Truvelo was awarded a place on the highly prestigious Crown Commercial Services TTAS framework. This permits UK public-sector bodies to procure from Truvelo by way of direct award as well as further competition.
